Journal Book

Journal-6
Happy Friday Everyone!!  Today I want to show you a journal book I made a couple of months ago.  My intention was to finish the inside before I posted it, but I settled for just completing the cover as it is turning out to be an ongoing project.  When I started the book I wanted to use it as a journal of the awesome birthday I had this year.  However, I liked it so much, I think I'm going to continue to add pages of other significant events in my life, as well as day to day photos.  I'm extremely pleased with how the cover turned out, and how the inside is shaping up.  It also holds a special place in my heart, no only because of the treasured memories it holds, but because I started working on it one lazy afternoon while crafting with Chris in the crop room.  We had a wonderful afternoon alone talking and playing.  It was great fun to spend some quality time with her.

So, here's the low-down on how I made it.  I started with a blank Prima Mixed Media Album Cover (fyi, the inside pages are sold separately).  I sprayed it completely with Sunflower Glimmer Mist, and then did the left and bottom edges with Partridge in a Pear Tree Glimmer Mist.  I added a Prima Millicent Vine, and filled in with Prima Kennedy and Metalique flowers.  I then added wooden embellishments that included Prima Clocks & Tickets, and Kaisercraft Flourishes.  The brads and metal & paper butterflies are Graphic 45.  The paper that inspired this journal is Graphic 45 Olde Curiosity Shoppe.  I'll be using more paper and cutouts on the inside of the journal.

Journal-5I hope you enjoyed the little peek at my journal.  I hope it inspires you to create your own.  My wish is that yours holds just as much special meaning to you as mine does to me.
