Recycling Crayon Pieces

Our morning project for today was to take all of our tiny, used crayon pieces and turn them into usable crayons again.  We filled muffin cups with broken crayons, heated them in a 275 degree oven for about 13 minutes, and let them cool completely.  I was feeling a little impatient, so after they cooled for a couple of minutes, I put them in the refrigerator until they harden.  It was a great project to do with the kids because they were able to do everything, except for manning the oven of course.  I found this idea on Scrapbook Trends Magazine's blog.  It worked perfectly using washable crayons!
